I went to go see it yesterday night and was pleasantly surprised, as were all my friends. It was well done and low on the cheese factor. I almost even forgot it was Tom Cruise.

In my opinion, Cruise might be a nut job but he's pretty good at what he does. He might never win an Oscar but he makes for a pretty great regular guy action/suspense hero.

We were going to see Benjamin Button and then found out it was 3 hours long so ended up seeing Valkyrie.  The s/o and I both liked it.

I took the advice previously posted and forgot about Cruise and paid attention to the other actors and the story.  It made it more enjoyable.  Plus, some old guy kept the experience entertaining.  He was fighting people to get a seat and when he finally got one..which was at my immediate right..he fell asleep in the first 10 minutes.  I kept having to bump and/or elbow him when the snoring got too loud.

Cruise is a good actor, appreciate most of his flicks, more of his older ones verse new ones.....

but....

that guy is a douchebag.

I wish he would leave this little "religion" out of his shit.

Hell, that cost him a HUGE contract with his last production company.

You should remove Vanilla Sky from your list and replace it with Jerry McQuire. Vanilla Sky is easily the worst vanity project this side of Battlefield Earth. The only difference is that I can watch Battlefield Earth repeatedly for the unintentional comedy that it is. Vanilla Sky just sucks ass.
