Red Powder coat color codes?

anyone have any idea's for a color code for powder coating that is close to Ducati red?
'78 Ducati Darmah 1987-1992
'92 900 SS 1992-1999
'02 900 Supersport 2002-2008
'04 1000ds Multistrada 2008-present

Talk with your local powdercoater and see if he has a good working relationship with the manufacturer.  I've brought painted color panels into a shop before and they send to the parent company (supplier) to do some spectragraphic analysis to match the color.  Last time it was a $45 charge to match and custom mix the powder to get a correct color and gloss factor.  Most people don't know that this option exists -- and most shops refuse to do because it is a hassle to make happen for yourself.  Thus why you find a good shop and get a good working relationship with them.

The Color code for the ducati red is in the manual. it gives a PPG color. sorry, on the wrong computer and don't have it in front of me.

The PPG color shouldn't be a problem in  Germany.

The PPG color code is from a system more widely used in Europe. They call it the 'Global' system here.

Whether anyone makes a matching powder...

is classified...

Tiger Drilac is good powder.

Most powder coaters will have 'paint chip' samples to show you.

Powder coat colors do seem to be a mystery. Not sure why Ducati doesn't release the colors/ brand they use.  I found someone who has a relationship with a powder coat supplier who is going to do some reserach this coming week when the factory opens back up. I'll post back any info he comes up with...

The color chips just don't cut it, as most know the chips colors just don't seem to come out the same on a large scale.
