had about 5 inches by 8 am today.

looks like another 5 - 6 have fallen since then.

BUT! HA HA!
i tricked her and bought a snowblower after the last big storm, so no more 3 hour shoveling jobs (100x12 foot driveway and 600 SqF pad in front of the garage)

edit: 5:30, and it looks like i will get to do the driveway again tomorrow morning waytogo

went over to Stratton, in VT.
i have relatives that live in South Londonderry, VT (just down the hill.)
makes for some cheap lodging.

weather was pretty good. mostly sunny, descent snow (for the east coast), and not as cold as it could have been.

looks like we have a good one headed this way.

some highlights from NOAA:

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
333 PM EST MON JAN 5 2009

...THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS
ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY...

THIS WATCH INCLUDES SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE...AS WELL AS INTERIOR
NORTHERN AND CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION VERY LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.
THE SNOW MAY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES WEDNESDAY MORNING AND ACCUMULATE
SEVERAL INCHES. HOWEVER...WARM AIR IS EXPECTED TO MOVE IN ALOFT
CHANGING THE PRECIPITATION OVER TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ACROSS
MOST LOCATIONS BY LATE MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON.

MOST LOCATIONS SHOULD SEE THE TEMPERATURES REMAIN BELOW FREEZING FOR
THE ENTIRE EVENT. THEREFORE...ONCE THE CHANGE OVER OCCURS SLEET AND
FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. THE POTENTIAL
EXISTS FOR BETWEEN ONE QUARTER AND ONE HALF INCH OF ICE ACCRETION...
WITH THE HIGHER AMOUNTS MORE LIKELY CLOSER TO THE MASSACHUSETTS
TURNPIKE WHERE FREEZING RAIN MAY BECOME THE MAIN PRECIPITATION TYPE.

sorry for the yelling. thats how the weather service prints the shit out...
