Does your finger get tired from the sticky track pad?

I was thinking about getting some sort of clear cover for it. like those for Ipod touch/iphones. i use an external mouse all the time becasue after 5 minutes, my finger gets tired.

Anyone know of any fixes

Mother

I use exactly what you suggested, the clear film cover for an old ipod screen, works fantastic

He Man

sweet. im gonna go find one today cause this touchpad is bugging !

My only computer is an HP Pavilion.  I am so used to the touch screen that a mouse is now hard to use.

I have not noticed any finger fatigue from the touch screen.  My complaint is that cheese popcorn sticks to it!

thats the 12.1 inch one right? i really wnted to get that one, but the price really turned me of on it after i had it customized to what i have now.
HP really has some great touch software though, have u checked out their touchsmart series?

I got mine through an employee discount program from starbucks.  That was one good thing about working there, all kinds of discount agreements.  HP, Microsoft, T Mobile, etc.

I have not looked at the newer options.  We do want to get a desktop unit for L. to work from home on.  Problem is to find space for it.

depending on what you wanna do, those touchsmarts are pretty neat machines. But they are high spec machines. you could get those mini tower PCs that pack a serious punch for a low price.

She needs to run CAD, MircoStation, and a few others for environmental drafting work.

I'm sure it's not an experiment that you want to run, but they do "wear in" after a while.  I agree, out of the box the touch pads suck but they get better.

Which cad version do you own? because 2006 has issues with Vista 64bit (which is what the touchsmart runs). I have a friend who has a newer autocad with his touchsmart. HOLY CRAP. Drafting is a lot more fun. instead of doing left hand on keyboard, right hand on mouse, you can do left hand on screen, right hand on mouse, and the snap function runs pretty nicely.

Which model do you have? My dv9000 has a smooth touchpad and I have no problems whatsoever with it.

Another good thing about working there is that you get to check out all the sweet rides.  [laugh]

As for the HP touchpad, my touchpad seems to change from day to day.  Sometimes it is fine, sometimes it is sticky.  But I know what you're talking about concerning finger fatigue.  I'm going to try the screen protector as well.
