my god......ALL THOSE BIKES and ALL that money spent and there ALL ugly!

I like the paint on the Scottsdale and Modesto bikes.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

The Beverly Hills one is an abomination.  Its like an 1100s went down to Tijuana for the night, got drunk, stumbled into a really bad tattoo shop and passed out in the chair.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that thinks most of them are pretty fugly.   [beer]
I had to vote for Indy ;D , at least it's one with more mods than just an ugly paint job.

terrible.
most of those bikes have paint overkill. reminds me of those stupid "custom" choppers.

a very few chose a minimalist approach (Hansens, Pro Italia to mention a few), which where not as ugly as the rest.

also, very few dealers did anything other than paint the bikes in hideous ways. i guess the challenge was to try and beautify and ugly bike...

fail.
This map is upside down, the plan is written in crayon, and the weather forecast is from 2011.

I think you hit the nail on the head - the bike is just ugly to begin with.  I get the impression that they were limited to bolt-on mods.  You'd have do some serious cutting to get this bike looking right.  As an entry bike, the 696 has some things going for it (light, short, well appointed relatively speaking for the price point), but the 1100 just doesn't work.  For the money, I'd look at an Aprilla, a KTM Duke, or a used S4Rs or Brutale.

Yeah... I'll be sticking with the 696... Something about the 1100 makes it look like a hodge-podge of parts to me.  Just doesn't seem like a cohesive whole - and the poor paint jobs on many of the dealer bikes don't help!

That Pro Italia bike though...  [thumbsup]

well one thing stands out from our corner of the world, check out the custom hand cut clutch cover, looks like some drunken jeweler did it.  [evil]

I think the 696 looks cute. Same way an Italian scooter looks cuteâ€"and you can't put a SSS and a bigger engine in one for the same reason.

I saw a "standard" 1100s at myer's yesterday and it didn't look TOO bad. I had to vote for the one Troy Lee designed.
