So I finally got round to taking some pics of my S2R1K (2007) and thought I'd share......

Back in the day I raced Motocross in the 125cc, 250cc, and Open classes riding Honda's then Yamaha's.  To say these bikes were modified would be an understatement as the motors were highly modified to produce the maximum amount of power (read usable) within their limited power band, they would just scream.  As for the suspensions they were maxed out as probably well beyond what the factory engineers and designers had in mind.  The goal was always to get on the pipe and keep it there, produce as much power as you could, and have the suspension to get it to the ground.  This was the challenge...  They were great fun but it would always lead to a search for the perfect suspension something adjustable and tuneable.  Suspension it's the Holy Grail!

Zoom and fast forward to today…. I have always enjoyed riding and I would look at others bikes and think to myself 'could I see myself riding one of those?'.  I have always been partial to BMW's and Ducati's and over the course of a few months I began to find myself at various dealers checking out what they had to offer and looking at what was 'new' as well as checking out the 'used' bikes.  On one particular day when I had stopped by a Ducati dealer and was checking out what they had on hand I found the bike that I would eventually buy, a 2007 S2R 1000.  The interesting thing about this bike was that it had been set up by Ducati as a Show bike so that it would highlight their Ducati Performance products, it had quite a few Performance and Carbon Fiber parts that were listed in the Ducati Performance Catalog.  Although, I have added a few things so that it better fits me I am very happy with the S2R1K.  It has an great low end torque that pulls from down low all the way up to the higher rpm's, truly it can get up an go thanks to the full Termi setup.  Less weight and more power is always a good thing.

But there remains the issue of the suspension... it needs to be improved and as I have said I am well aware of the fact that when it comes to suspensions they are the Holy Grail...

Ducati Performance Parts:
Carbon Fiber Headlight Fairing, Steering Damper, Carbon Fiber Fuel Tank, Tank Protector Pad, Carbon Fiber Solo-Seat tail Guard, Carbon Fiber Side Covers, Carbon Fiber Short rear guard & plate holder, Header Pipe, Termignoni Exhaust with Carbon Fiber  Mufflers, High-Performance Open Air Box and ECU, Carbon Fiber Heat Shields, Bucci Slipper Clutch, Marchesini Forged Rims, Magnesium Alternator Cover, Magnesium Valve Covers, STM Oil Breather, Ergal Rear Set, Carbon Fiber Half Clutch Cover, Carbon Fiber Short Belly Fairing, Carbon Fiber Front Sprocket Cover, Carbon Fiber Timing Belt Covers, Carbon Fiber Front Mudguard, Carbon Fiber Front Chain Guard, Carbon Fiber Rear Chain Guard, Carbon Fiber Rear Mudguard, Ducati Red chain, Front and Rear turn indicators.  Aftermarket: SpeedyMoto Frame Sliders, SpeedyMoto Stainless Steel Clucth Springs, Evoluzione Clutch Slave, Suburban Machinery Bars, CRG Shorty Roll-A-Click Levers,  CRG HindSight LS Mirrors.

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

I believe he actually bought it that way, the dealer had already installed all the DP CF bits.
