Nichols Oil breather needs installing. Help?
«
on:

I bought it slightly used. (3k miles) It does have the spanner wrench with it.
Has anyone installed one of these before? Or any aftermarket oil breather for that matter.
And have the time and willingness to help me install it?

I have to do the exact same thing to my Supersport. If you can wait until after the AMA round I'd be willing to fumble through it with ya.

Yeah, I can wait until after the races.
It's only replacing a working part with a better part.
Thanks

I'm around, and still fairly mobile. If you want to drop by, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to install.

Thanks. Maybe after the races, and you are still feeling up to it, Desmoquattro and I can meet at your place. I don't know what your garage is like, but DQ's is shared. It might be more conveinent to have more room.

My garage? Besides the 800 lbs of tools, there's the padded work floor, crazy guy that lives in the front half, and my girlfriend's cooking. Oh, and maybe some beer too (haven't been drinking much, being on pain meds and all).

I have a nice billet STM oil breather on mine. This is what you do.
Remove the hose from the top
Get a big pair of pliers and unscrew the old breather
Put New breather on by hand so that its tight
Replace Hose
Mebbe use a new shiny Hose clamp or even Shiny New Hose.
I actually put some gasket maker on the threads of mine but this may be unnecessary.
Remember: Righty tighty, Lefty loosey.

So, when are we gonna do this?
I now have a slip-on exhaust to install as well. If the offer is still open I would like to do this in your garage Duckwrench.
Desmoquattro, do you still need to install your oil breather?
I realize this weekend is out, because of the races. I'm free next week. After that I'll be gone from the 1st to the 11th of June for National Guard annual training.

Man, I still have yet to reconfigure the bike from my pre-AMA-weekend track day. And I'll be riding up to the race Sunday...no room for Miss Silvia
