I'm only getting about 200 miles out of my Sauconys, and then I can "feel" that I need a new pair.

I'd like to hear how many miles others get before buying new shoes.

Thanks!!!

For me, it depends on the brand.

Nike's about 250, Asics 400, and Saucony's 450.

Longevity also varies with training surface.  Harder the surface, lower the life.

Do you train with two pair of shoes, alternating days?  It helps prolong shoe life and prevent repetitive stresss injuries.

I used to do this...

Plus, I bet I weigh more than you.

So, with one datum, 200 miles isn't extraordinary.

When I ran in school a few years ago, I'd get about 250 miles out of my nikes. Didn't keep track of my new balance's, but I'd figure they were in the same range.

250-330 depending on where i run, sometimes it will be on dirt trails, sometimes on straight pavement. im 155lbs.

Ive only worn new balance since its the cheapest, and luckly has the best fit. Some of the runners i know said if i went to a specialist store, they can hook you up with the best brand that fits your foot and form you soles and that will make a running shoe last longer since it wears more evenly. Never done it, but it makes sense.

I always go way too long on mine (well over 1000 miles) and always regret it later. :P

i buy a new pair every spring...kind of helps me kick it back in. i typically put close to 500 miles on a pair between april and october (i know, way to much)
but i never wear my runners for anything else.
always had the best luck with NB or Nike, and always look for the best balance between weight and cushioning.

and i never buy them at big box stores. its a fact that the same brand/model/color of nike sold at walmart is not the same quality shoe as the shoe sold at a store specializing in shoes, preferably from a runners store, but always from the higher end sports places....not foot locker either.

Mizunos about 400
Asics 300
Nike 300
Brooks 400

Although... I think I ran in the Brooks untill they were well beyond dead.... had some IT band issues after that pair.

Just bought a pair of Nike's Zoom Vomero3 after running....my God...it was like having a big-O. I tried on Asics and Saucony..but they felt really really nice. These are great running shoes...I would like to thank the kid working over in the sweat shop in China who made these shoes
