Looking to replace my 02 F150.

Looked at the Tundra, F150 and Titan.

Tundra has the most power, tq and towing, but comparably equipped is by far the most expensive.

F150 is within $1000 of the Titan with comparable options, but has lower power, tq and towing.

I like the Titan, but would like to hear some personal experiences with it. My dad has an 06, but doesn't use it for much more than a grocery getter...

You know what I would recommend.  ;D

But regarding the Nissan.

Nissan will stop producing their own Titan this year and begin selling a rebadged version of the Dodge Ram as a Nissan Titan for 2010.

That should speak volumes.

Have you considered the Dodge? I've had 2(3 if you count the Ram van) and had very good experience with them. Reliable, roomy, and take a beatin'.

Seriously? I hadn't heard that!

I know what you would recommend, now if I could just get your pricing to go with it... ;D

Yes and no. I had considered a diesel, but realize I don't need anything like that right now. I know the diesels are stout, but have heard mixed reviews about their gasoline engines. The new "bed toolbox" thing is kinda cool though...

tundra all the way! the only reason i dont have one already is that its not a diesel.

the titan is hideous. i have heard really good thing about the new F150, but i am a little gun shy of american vehicles at the moment.
If you drive the nicest car in the neighborhood, work in a cash business, and don't pay taxes, you're either a preacher or a drug dealer...

My F150 has been good to me. I've towed a lot, hauled a lot, daily driver, 77K miles all on the 4.2 V6.

But I don't see how the Titan is ugly but the Tundra isn't? They look pretty similar to me...

yes and no

Chrysler sells a rebadged Versa in teh states, and Dodge sells rebadged Nissans in most of South America.

Nissan has had a hard time selling the big truck but that's mainly due to their history of selling small trucks and being very new ot the big truck arena (and now with the economy and gas prices of late)

Similar, not the same. I don't think either one of them are STUNNING, but I don't think the Titan looks worse than anything else out there. I am partial to Nissan, but I'm not decided yet...

A good friend of mine has a 2006 Titan.   He is a serious wood shaper (he was general contractor on his own renovation and made his own cabinets), workshop nut (welds, makes his own aluminum parts and retooled my old oven to work for powdercoating) and extreme sport nut (mountain biking, snow boarding, climbing, etc).    All that was for context when I say the only people I know who haul less stuff are using their trucks daily in the construction business.

The number one thing he likes about the Titan is the truck's bed and the adjustable tie down points.  His next favorite is how wide the rear doors open and how much hauling space is avail in the back of the cab.  I'm a GMC guy myself and was impressed by both in comparison to my truck (Sierra Denali).   I was less impressed by the engine (has great stats but felt like it had to be wound up and that it had a higher torque curve).  Ride was OK.  Can't speak to towing.

I like some of the new features of the new Dodge (the wheel well storage area is one of those "why didn't i think of that" moments IMO), but I haven't driven them in a while.  The new Fords are tight and I love the 07+ model of the Sierra's.

2005 S2R -- Mods installed: DP termi full racing kit, ST4 Forks, S4R rear shock, 999 Radial Brake and Clutch MCs, 4 pot Brembo Calipers, 320mm Snowflake rotors, SBK Quick change carrier, 43T rear sproket, Tomaselli Clip Ons, Cyclecat Frame Sliders, ASV Levers, zero indicators, Supernova taillight

Per the stats on manufacturer's websites, the Titan (as well as the 5.7L Tundra engine) make max tq at 3600rpm. The Titan makes 385, the Tundra 401.

Honestly, I think the only thing keeping me from getting the Tundra over the Titan is the price...

Tundra is a NICER looking truck!

Flat black one with all black accessories at Seattle bike show last year.  I've been wanting one ever since!
