True, but you can't argue with the numbers, now can you?

Actually it's not too hard to even argue the numbers.

the GM 1500 platform outsells the Ford it's just divided on the charts between the Silverado and the Sierra.

Ford, GM and Dodge all make kick ass trucks.  Arguing which is better is a fools game.

2005 S2R -- Mods installed: DP termi full racing kit, ST4 Forks, S4R rear shock, 999 Radial Brake and Clutch MCs, 4 pot Brembo Calipers, 320mm Snowflake rotors, SBK Quick change carrier, 43T rear sproket, Tomaselli Clip Ons, Cyclecat Frame Sliders, ASV Levers, zero indicators, Supernova taillight

Having just spent a month shopping trucks (all 2wd, all 09's 'cept the Toyota, they didn't have any):

Ford: Didn't drive one as the 2004 that I bought went through 2 transmissions in 17K miles. Fit and finish was poor with parts falling off, headliner coming out, paint quality poor.

Toyota: The double cab is ugly IMO with the way the rear window slopes forward. The crew looks ok but I'm still not partial to the front end. Truck was fast and rode nice. I was quoted $33-36 depending on options before tax. I am a Toyota guy, I've owned three so far.

Chevy: Tried to drive one but the sales guy was "too busy". He also quoted me about 33K to 36K pre tax. He did mention that he heard the new Dodge was a great truck. Dumbass.

Nissan: Ugly. No point in even looking at them.

Dodge: I've never liked the look of the Dodge but the new (09) body style is nice. Squared up a bit and with the sport model you get color matched bumpers, handles, mirrors, etc. 390/410 HP/TQ compared to Nissan at 317/385 and Toyota at 381/401. Also has a MDS motor that shuts off half the cylinders on the freeway so 14/20 MPG compared to Toyota at 13/17. With navigation (head and shoulders above what Toyota is offering and I have nav in my 4Runner), sat radio (free subscription for a year as well) bluetooth, remote start, power everything, dual zone air, tow package, crew cab (back seat has almost as much room as the front), storage galore, rear coil suspension instead of leaf springs (rides like a luxury car), etc, etc. $29700 plus tax from a 42K sticker. You can guess what I bought.

OK, I think all of us are getting off the subject. Let's get back to discussing the pros and cons of each so I can make an informed decision...

OK, buy another F150.  [cheeky]

m's is silver, and a really nice vehicle, for a truck.
the back is very roomy too, with tons of storage compartments, etc.
and very comfortable!

have you looked for a slightly used one?

Haven't read all of this thread, but the Titan and Armada are Nissans worse 2 vehicles in terms of reliability, customer satisfaction, and resale.

Nissan didn't get the drive train beefy enough IMO, and it has caused a lot of differential and transmission problems.

Also, the ONLY reason the F150 is the best selling truck in America, is because GM is to stooopid to brand their 1500 truck under 1 name.  If you combine the GMC and Chevy 1/2 tons, they outsell the F150 easy.

I think the new Tundra sucks also.  The previous Tundra model filled a nitch market, and was a nice dependable truck for average consumers had average size garages and didn't need to tow 10,000lbs and have 400hp.  Now the Tundra is directly competing with Ford/GM/Dodge, which have been making good real 1/2 ton trucks for a long time, and are still arguable the best.

I will have to look tonight at home.  I just got the latest CR auto guide last night, and glanced at the Nissan models ( I am generally a Nissan fan ).

Why? The F-150 was only the best selling vehicle in the US last year. Oh yeah, it's been number 1 for the past 26 years as well. Just because GM and Chrysler are begging for your tax dollars to pay their ridiculous fees to the UAW scumbags, that doesn't mean you can't trust Ford!

FTR, i currently drive a 99 superduty w/ powerstroke. i love it. 210,000 miles and pulling strong. i expect the New England winters (salt) to kill it long before the engine craps out.
its a little loud at speed, but ..........see my sig. line

and while you are correct that ford is in better shape than the other US auto companies, thats not actually saying a whole lot.

anyway, opinions were asked for, not arguments.

Absolutely zero problems with my '04 F150 after 75000 something miles.  I'll drive it until it dies, then buy the small diesel F150 that is in the works.

I love my 2000 Dodge Ram...but I do have a major gripe...

The heater core recently went bad. 6 hours later with the dash on the front seat and the entire heater box removed from the truck, I could finally actually see the heater core. Chrysler lists that particular service at 6.6 hours and $550 to $700 depending on your shop's rate.

Other than that, the truck has been rock solid reliable and with our recent cold, out of the 3 vehicles in the driveway (2004 Silverado and 2007 Pacifica) has been the only one to not need jumped at least once...
