I am surprised at the Nissan. I have owned two Nissan Cars and found them to be highly reliable. How could the truck be such a POS?

Anyway if you don't have to haul anything too heavy, the Dodge SRT 10 is a kick in the pants.

reason # 2 on my list of why to never live in iowa
It should be one of the reasons about NH too...

Yea that may be true...

Have you ever mashed your foot down on the gas pedal in one of those? The CHP recommends not doing that.

Not to mention they don't produce them anymore.

You wouldn't want a diesel today in Iowa.  -30F, lots of trucks broke down with gelled fuel.

that is a planning issue.

My 1986 Ford Ranger (with a Mitsubishi 4d55t diesel) has 2 batteries  and cold starts are fine as long as I use the block  heats and antigel.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Let's clarify.

Did you drive the '09 Ram?

What other '08/09 competitive models have you driven?

I have done ZERO test driving. I am in the very preliminary stages right now. Trying narrow down the options I would like, compare stats, pricing, etc. Now, if I go to drive something and I don't like it, then I can re-evaluate..

I went on Dodges website, looking for a replacement for my '97 2500. I built the same truck I have now, just without the 11 years and 127k miles. $52,000!?!?!  $1125/month!?!?!?
That's more than my mortgage!

Try paying around 3-4X that for a mortgage.  ;)

No thanks. I try to live within my means(and sometimes that gets pretty mean!), and I bought what I could afford, then fixed it up to be what I wanted(Mostly.).

I do, really. I'm just keeping my options open. I have wanted a Titan since they came out. Just trying to get the most truck (and frills) for my money.

On a side note, it was freaking -5 this morning when I went out to the truck and started it up. The check engine light came on. WTF?
