That was it's way of saying "It's -5 out! Get back in the house, idjit!"
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

No thanks. I try to live within my means(and sometimes that gets pretty mean!), and I bought what I could afford, then fixed it up to be what I wanted(Mostly.).

We do the same thing here. Live within our means, and buy what we can afford. It just costs that much.  [bang]

I do, really. I'm just keeping my options open. I have wanted a Titan since they came out. Just trying to get the most truck (and frills) for my money.

On a side note, it was freaking -5 this morning when I went out to the truck and started it up. The check engine light came on. WTF?

That was a hint that you need remote start. Warms up the motor, gets the cab to 72 degrees, and defrosts the windows and mirrors...all while you read the paper and have a cup.  [coffee]

that is a planning issue.

My 1986 Ford Ranger (with a Mitsubishi 4d55t diesel) has 2 batteries  and cold starts are fine as long as I use the block  heats and antigel.

+1
the block heater is your friend (and the 2 batteries arent bad either)

If I was going to keep this truck longer, I would put one on it. The new truck WILL have a remote start.

I would love a block heater for mine, but running 150' of extension cord out to my truck is kinda silly...

I left my Dodge out on the street on Thursday, when it was in the 40's. Now I have to use it tomorrow (it's like 15F now.). Hope the batteries last long enough to get it started. Block heaters are a blessing, as long as you park close enough to the outlet. [bang]

I have left my truck out in the cold on the weekend with several days of low 20's with overnight lows in the teens and it started no problem...

Hate to barge in here with something on topic but this seemed like a good write up.

No FHE with any of your candidates, but with roughly 220K  virtually trouble free miles on my Ford, I won't have a problem looking at them for my future trucking needs.

Sort of an odd writeup. They start off mentioning they have six trucks.

For the remainder of the article, they only mention 5. It's like the other one never existed.

Is yours a diesel, too?
Mine has the air heater in the intake instead of the glowplugs, and while I think it is a better system, since there are no glowplugs to break down, it does pull a lot of juice from the batteries, especially in below freezing weather.

I as referring to the Toyota. Unless I'm mistaken, it's only mentioned in the intro.

I know it was mentioned in the links, but it's poor writing to introduce a subject then not do follow up.
