Well, Chris, Daytona Bike IS this week! That can only be one thing. The start of the seson is at hand! I was checking out the TV schedules and it seems that there are several programs on this week that showcase bikes. You'll have to check out SpeedTV for most of it. Superbikes on SpeedTV has a program on this week featureing Indy Moto GP in fact I'm watching at this moment as I type. Of course it's really oriented towards the stunt/custom bikes but it does have some stuff on the GP this week.

Then again, a little thread-jacking here, you can get that same voyeuristic pleasure of watching sports competitions with surfing competition on FuelTV in HD is way cool and super satisfying to watch this time of year. In fact I think Fuel has the Billabong from Hawaii this week. (surfing hand sign) Thread jack signing off...

Very cool, thanks!  So is this "AMA Pro Racing American Superbike Championship" series different from the '08 Mladin/Spies Benefit Series that most people think of as AMA Superbike?

I guess it really doesn't matter.  If there's a Ducati running out there, good enough reason to hit an AMA race at some point this season.  How close do they get to Texas?  Miller Motorsports Park maybe?

Spies and Mladin where ahead just because they where better riders  than the rest...

This year will be a joke, Superstock bikes labeled as Superbikes.....  vomit bang head

Giannis,

You probably won't be surprised laughingdp but I have a red/black 1986 GSXR750 in a storage bldg. that is bone stock and very low mileage. Fox shock, steel braided lines... that's it. It still even has the original exhaust! I safety wired it for a rider's school in 1989 but I rode something else instead. In 2004 I sold my 1986 GXSR750 Limited to the owner of Action Kawasaki/Suzuki for his personal collection. If you remember they had the factory racing kit dry clutch, GSXR1100 front end and brakes and the factory fiberglass solo seat. It had 610 miles on it and also was bone stock. Should have kept that one!

Neat old scooters. waytogo

i remember about the LTD i cant belive you sold it!! i want an 85-87 GSXR750 so bad... i have to finish my Katana1100 first. Since i moving to Greece this fall and bikes in Europe are plentyfull ill give some old school bikes (first on the list the GPz900R)

Very cool.  Looks like a very intersting season, especially with new entries from BMW and Aprillia.  Guess I was asleep when Triumph jumped into Super Sport with the 675... Should be some GREAT race watching!

Thanks for the link  waytogo

this is wrong Rea did the best lap on his TenKate CBR

Quote
1 Jonathan Rea HANNspree Ten Kate Honda Honda CBR1000RR 1:31.8
2 Michel Fabrizio Ducati Xerox Team Ducati 1098R 1:32.1
3 Ben Spies Yamaha World Superbike Yamaha YZF R1 1:32.3
4 Noriyuki Haga Ducati Xerox Team Ducati 1098R 1:32.3
5 Max Neukirchner Suzuki Alstare Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K9 1:32.5
6 Yukio Kagayama Suzuki Alstare Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K9 1:32.8
7 Troy Corser BMW Motorrad Motorsport BMW S1000 RR 1:32.9
8 Tom Sykes Yamaha World Superbike Yamaha YZF R1 1:33.1
9 Ryuichi Kiyonari Ten Kate Honda Racing Honda CBR1000RR 1:33.1
10 RubenXaus BMW Motorrad Motorsport BMW S1000 RR 1:33.5
11 Carlos Checa HANNspree Ten Kate Honda Honda CBR1000RR 1:33.5

Spies never been on this track and he just had maybe 100 laps on his New to him (and his Tech guys) R1 and he does some amazing laps (Rea raced WSS last year) The only reason for Spies to lose the title this year is the new tracks... the Kid is Fast...  the next American GP champion... remeber that! I'm definately geeked about the new season. I'm glad aprillia and BMW are in it to win it (so to speak). I thought KTM was going to campaign the RC8. Was I mistaken or did something happen? Just checked the DVR, it is set!
