Quat-D Ex-Box on S2R 800/S4R 996
«

I traded my Termis for a Quat-D Ex-Box which was fitted to an S2R 800.
The Quat-D bolts on the engine just below the rearsets, and the threads in the engine case of my S4R (desmoquattro) are M6.
However, the threaded rod that came with the Ex-Box is M8 (or M10, I forget) -- larger than the engine case, so I cannot use it.
Is the corresponding boss on the S2R 800 engine case M8 (or M10) and not M6?
Can the M6 threaded boss on my bike be somehow punched out of the engine case to allow a larger bracket bolt?
Thanks.
Dave

It's already on the bike and I'm keeping it. I would just like to use a sturdier fastener.
