High temperature paint or ceramic coating?

Is ceramic coating "tougher" than high-temperature paint?

The headers and midpipe on my Bandit are ceramic coated, and soon after I bolted them up, debris thrown by the front wheel removed a little of the coating, and I've noticed that they are susceptible to scratches.  Other than that, I'm very pleased with the ceramic coating.

I've also have been impressed with high-temperature paint (plus it's easy to rattle-can on yourself), but it's come off quickly on my Quat-D exhaust.  I did bake it after painting, but perhaps not hot/long enough.

I want to remove the Quat-D and modify the mounting bracket to create space for grommets, and afterward either re-paint it, or have it ceramic coated.  I'm just not sure which.

Thoughts, suggestions?

duplicolor has a high temp paint with ceramic in it.
works well, bakes on good with exhaust temp.

Thanks for posting this.  I had thought about wrapping my pipes or ceramic coating them.  Maybe I'll just go the duplicolor high temp with ceramic route.

I used this for my headlight ring.  It is very durable.  I am temped to try it on my exhaust but I do not have an oven big enough to bake it afterwards.  I worry about scratching it while putting it back on to "bake" it  by running the bike.
Then again might be worth the shot, if it doesn't work then just get them powdercoated.
