Trip to DucatiSaarland (Germany)

So i took a little time today to go to a dealer not far from my area (about 45 min)
DucatiSaarland is a small dealership, a little cramped for space, but lots of used and new bikes in the shop.
Even had a D16RR.
Got to see the new M1100S.
Lots of aftermarket parts and apparel.
I was looking for some screws to narrow the front turn signals from the stateside size to euro standards, but apparently they are too new to be in stock.
The thing that kind of ticked me off was the guys answer to one of my questions. i was looking for brake/clutch levers and he said no one makes any clutch levers for the M696 yet. hmmm i know a lot of you guys have those... so the BS from his mouth didn't impress me.
BUT the one thing that i did like was a bike there.
It was a 1000SS that had been VERY VERY modified.
first it was bumped up to a 1078cc. the rear part of the frame chopped off and a 1098 rear subframe and tail added. with complete exhaust system to match. the front fairing was also from a 1098 but only the front part and two small finishing pieces made it look like a 1/3 fairing bike. the only thing i didn't like was the paint... monster dark with stick on 1078 labels. all that money and they didnt finish with decent paint and decals.

all in all didn't like the shop. but i'm withholding final judgement til i visit the other local dealer.

Raux, where do you live over there?  I lived in Hutschenhausen (just to the west of Landstuhl) for four years before coming down to Hawaii.

Nice area.  There is some really tasty riding in the forests to the south and east of Kaiserslautern.

If you ever happen to go back again...
check and see if they actually have these spoke wheels



I've been looking at those in their catalog for awhile  8)
