I've seen some threads about mirrros (like only a zillion of them  Grin) but can't find what I'm looking for.

I purchased some stock 696 mirrors thinking it would be a direct bolt on to replace stock mirrors on the 620....Wrong!

Granted, didn't to much research but I picked the stock 696 mirrors up for $20.

So, the bolts are smaller for the 696 mirrors, and I could swear I've read some people swapping stock 696 (or S2R or ?) mirrors on the older models.

I'm thinking I might be able to punch out the sleeve on the 696 stalk, and it will fit a bolt for the size needed on the 620. I may have to drill it out a little, don't know yet. Then of course I would have to find bolts (one left hand thread) to attach them.

Can anyone tell me if this has been done before, either with 696 or possiby another model that may be direct bolt on replacement?

Any info appreciated.

Thanks.

change the clamp parts that holds the mirrors. the 696 mirrors have one side reverse threaded. the diameter of the bars should be  the same (totally guessing there) but if they are you can just grab them.

Yeah, thats a thought. Finding the clamps might be tough without just going to the dealer and ordering a set, probably more $$$ than what its worth.

I'm searching for a 10mm to 6mm adapter, but no luck yet.

I bought one of those parts for a buddy (620), and it was about $15 from the dealer.

yeah, just called and they're $18.95 each. So another $40 to do it  Undecided

The question they couldn't answer was the diameter of the bar the same between the 696 and 620.  The 620 has a 7/8 inch handlebar....I'm assuming that if you're buddy did it, that the size is the same??

Can anyone confirm the 696 uses a 7/8 inch bar?

These look like the ones on my 696, not sure about the thread size though. If you call he'll probably be able to tell you.

Aren't all bars 7/8" where the controls mount.

Hence we can all mount up controls/switches for most bikes.

Then don't listen to me cause I'm never 100% sure of anything!!!  I'm happy at about 75% sure.  cheeky

Yeah, the 620 is reverse threaded on the right (brake), and the 696 is as well, .....are you saying the 695 was not reverse threaded?

Every once in a while a Monster (may not include the 696) has right handed threads on both mirrors.
