I don't know if any of you know about the Cretins but they are an interesting bunch. Racing is at the core of the club. Anyone want to do this? ie...put together some bikes to participate in this catagory racing?

This is what Rock Bottom Racing is all about! Post up your thoughts.
I'd love to do a vintage racer...anyone else?
Anyone got an old bike they don't want that might make a good vintage racer?

i don't have the scratch to put together an old bike to race, but i can hang out for the part where we have a couple pints.  i'm also good at handing people wrenches and hex keys.

Hey, that's my job.  You can do the pints.

I thought it would be fun to do is all. I was really interested in the pocketbike thing before Christmas for my son but now I'm into thinking that we could have fun with this. I have been looking online for a vintage road racing association around these parts but it's not easy to find. So, why not start one ! I mean the parts for these older scoots are still around and if you read the latest issue of SportRider mag they have an article on The Cretins and what they do. YouTube a vid on them and you'll see that it's more fun than competition. I'm thinking no more than a 500cc modded out for racing as best possible. I think Slag posted up last fall about going out to Utah for the big race if I'm not mistaken. There's even a magazine out devoted to just vintage racing and it looks to be catching on. Not that it will ever take the place of our Euro Track days but it would be something we as a club could play around with.
 I'm just sayin... popcorn

Schwaaeeet choice! I've talked to Giannis about his project SR500 Yami but the bike is not 'finished' yet. But he would be a great source of info on this matter from the conversations we've had just recently. He's got some great ideas for that BMW cafe that he posted earlier this week. Those  are nice looking too. Anything rat-bikeish is going to work. The Cretins are sticklers for correctness or anything else for that matter. They just sort of are into riding and racing. Gee, isn't that the purpose of scooters in the first place !! All in all it sounds like some cheap fun to me.

send me links to where you and Slovoch are looking.  I have no idea what I would want other than a 650 Yammi with a banana seat  cheeky
