I work for a major power company -- you would not believe the percentage of outages caused by squirrels.


City Hall in our town was out one day, big boom, no lights, small fire. We rolled up to find the transformer fuse blown and the wire chewed through. It didn't take long to find the squirrel around the pole with every hair on his body burnt off, except his tail, which was still party on fire.

The stupid thing was still alive at that point too.

We fixed the wire, and finished the squirrel off for his own good.
