These days it seems that I always have a buddies bike in my garage in need of repairs or waiting for a total make over.  Lately I have been  having a hard time finding many used parts, and in so many occasions the dealers prices are very prohibitive.  I checked the local resources post, but I noticed a lack of used parts in the listing.  I always check Ebay, Craigslist, and Fremont cycle salvage, and I have a list of forums for old BMW Airheads. I figured I would toss out the net to all the local smart guy peeps in here.  So........  Where do you get all you quality used parts for Ducati's and otherwise?  TIA

I find most of my used parts up in Marin, where they've fallen off of DQ's bike.  Grin

So YOU have my license plate! Do I have to come down there and make you look like Jammen to get it back? Maybe you'll get a helicopter ride Evil

But seriously...have you checked the parts wanted and parts for sale threads?

Dude, if I had that thing I would be sending you pictures of it from various locales. You'd never get it back.

Well .... what I'm looking for always depends on the moment.  This thread was intended to get ideas where to look.  But since you guys asked here's is what I'm looking for currently:

Classic looking 60mm Speedometer.  Hopefully electronic
Used Rizoma reservoirs
Rear Brake rotor for a BMW r1150r
Alternator rotor assembly for a BMW f650
Nice looking controls for 7/8 bar
front fork upgrade options for 2001 Monster 900
Ohlins or Penske shock on the cheap  [evil]http://208.109.198.140/Themes/black22_11final_tp/images/icons/modify_inline.gif

Sometimes I'm looking for Honda parts and sometimes its bits for a Ninja 250.

Alternator rotor assembly for a BMW f650

The BMW guys here in Australia all rave about the service and prices from http://www.motobins.co.uk/

What do you mean by 'front fork upgrade options for 2001 Monster 900'?
Improvement to function?
Or a direct swap in better fork?

Give Stew a holler about switchgear.

I'd have to get 2 shocks on the cheap before one could make it through to anyone else.  laughingdp

The other stuff I pretty much got nothin'.

Basically I want to upgrade for something either tailored or something at least a little adjustable, but I'm just not sure what avenue I'm going to take yet.  So basically I'm keeping my eyes open for either something that will bolt right in like off of a M900S or S4R,  or possibly something that takes a bit more modification, like a SBK or GXR fork.  Maybe if I strike it rich I'll consider a complete Ohlins fork upgrade or a matris cartridge.

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for.  This site is great, just for the animation alone   waytogo

I usually troll though the parts for sell every once in awhile.  I think i need to send up a RSS feed and then crate some sort of email alert based on keywords or something.  There are just too many postings to sort through.  And I am just so very...very..... lazy   Cheesy
