What a great show. Man it would be great to have the resources to pull something off like that. Although I wouldn't leave the country with my bike it has inspired me to plan a future trip within America. How about you have you taken on a massive journey on a motorcycle? I would love to hear some suggestions or maybe you know of a website that has some trips that have been done before and attractions along the way.

i'm planning to ride around for a while after i return from my year of teaching in korea. look for a ride report in six or seven months. [laugh]

('long way down' is pretty good, too. you should give it a watch.)

Coming soon...  Long Way Up.

How can I get people to pay me to do this?!!!
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

I'd prefer to go with a company that has a little confidence in their product.  [evil]

Been reading a thread about a "regular guy riding in the Dakar".
Cool stuff.
And heaps of info.

+1 on Ewan and Charlie's adventures. It's entertaining to watch, my gf was pretty into it, and she's not all that into motorcycles.

a good book to check out - "Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road" by Neil Peart (drummer for Rush) - beginning is a bit sad (1st his daughter dies in a car accident, then life partner dies of broken heart) but he then hops on his bike & does a tour of North & some Central America.
