So Fry, you're going to sell me that 850R wagon cheap... right?
I solve my problems like an adult, at the strip club drinking on a work night.

Well yeah-Isn't he starting a business? One should save funds for other things.

The civic is a toolmobile. Yes it's a good car. But I feel dead inside when I drive one.

But I would also drive the s2000.

I've heard the economy on the Legacy isn't all that bad. It's only a four banger, just don't whomp on it.

I think the answer here is simple....

sell me the Volvo for 500 bucks

[evil]

You know what Im thinking.

add another '0' to that and we will be talking  ;)

by good fuel mileage i mean 20+ would be good. I grew up with turbo cars, so i don't expect much out of it.
my  Volvo gets 13 around town and 24 if i'm really careful on the highway...

For commuting 35 miles back and forth on the highway? Probably a Jetta TDI. Barring that, an econobox.

The only thing you find you have more of by driving a "cool" car on the highway as opposed to an econobox is speeding tickets.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

The vehicle from the factory is merely a canvas

much like the monster

besides

what else is there that is mechanically sound, excellent economy, warranty, and 15k?
Something like my Mazda 3, if you must get an econobox.
It would crush that Civic in the twisties.

I like the Mazda 3's. They are pretty good looking, relatively cheap and decent performance. I think we have a winner...

And I can firsthand tell you that they are durable. I'm at 165,000 so far.

For ~$15k you could consider a gently used Acura RSX Type-S with the 200hp engine.

Here's my ride. 2007 Mazda 3 sport. Has a 2.3 liter 4 banger. You can get a turbo model but I didn't want to pay for high-test every fill up. All in all, one of the best cars I've ever owned.

(Oh yeah, there's a Monster In My Garage!)
Seriously, bought it used early last year.(Had less than 10,000 miles). Got it for $13,500 and the remainder of the warranty was transferred as well!

I'm admittedly biased I've been driving German cars for over twenty years ( Speed limit in Japan 100 kph - 62 mph , speed limit in Germany - there is none. Who do think builds better cars )

Go to this site http://www.tdiclub.com/ sign up and find a member in your area who will let you drive a modded VW tdi.
VW builds good cars, in NA they have a miserable dealership network, you just don't let the dealership touch your car ever.
You can have good performance and get over 40 mpg. ;D

I live 12 miles outside of Soldotna Alaska down Funny River Road ( great fun on a Duc in the summer ), in the past month we've had 2 weeks of -25 to -40 then it warmed up to 35 to 40 and rained , the we got some light snow. So my daily drive is 12 miles of twisty snow covered black ice. On the way back from town this afternoon I had 2 pickups and a SUV pull over and let me by ( I was going a little slower than my summer clip  [evil] ) not bad for a diesel bug.
A conclusion is the place you got tired of thinking
