disclaimer: i'm not commenting on the decision to move towards more mechanical grip and away from aero grip.  this is just an aesthetic commentary

commentary: GAWDAMN THE NEW CARS ARE UGLY.

once you get past the narrow rear wing, they look just fine.

IMO:

Front wing looks a lot better, rear wing looks better (higher up, more vertical area, supported at both endplates) and worse (much too narrow to look natural). Less bodywork in front of the rear wheels is... interesting. But at least the undertray looks good. Slicks doing what they do (looking fabulous) all over again.

Is the track any wider, or is that an optical illusion?

It really opens up the rear wheels and has that... cute factor! Cheesy

+1

that front wing is hideous.

the rear wing just looks comical.

maybe i'll get used to it over the season, but right now the F1 cars looks too much like the lower-spec formula cars including the BMWs:

just doesn't look premiere...

As long as they keep that Renault around, none of the others will look all that bad by comparison.

Not the best looking F1 cars, but certainly not the ugliest either. From certain angles, the Ferrari and McLaren look good.
