DCTC Riding Course

The dates for DCTC Riding Course in Rosemount are now posted.  These dates fill up extremely fast so book early.  $90 for a full day is well worth it.

Couple question for people who have done these kind of rides before.

1. Can I ride to the track or do I have to trailer my bike?
2. Anything I need to know that isn't mentioned on their website?
3. How much do I need to know about my bike to handle "pitting."

I have done a few of these so I will try to answer.
1. You can ride the bike to the track; many people do.  I trailer because I want to be able to change in/out of the leathers and have food, chairs, coolers, etc handy. Also you will be tired at the end of the day and it is nice sitting in a cage driving home.
2. I would bring lunch and drinks as there are no facilities outside of a Biffy.  Sun shade is also nice to have.
3. All you have to do is tape over your lights.  In addition I would remove the mirrors and blinkers if feasible.  Use 3M Blue wide masking tape; it comes off easily without leaving residue. 

Tires in good shape and not worn out. 
Brakes in good shape.
Tighten all bolts down so nothing falls off your bike and make problems for other riders.
Chain properly adjusted.

Those things that Ulf mentioned are essential to having a great day. Shade (pop up canopy), chairs, lots of water, etc. go a long way towards making your experience as awesome as it should be. I will add one more thing...in the event that you crashed the bike, (not too likely but it does happen) you may not be able to ride it back home if you damage it badly. It's just a possibility that you should consider.
