Well, the tools at DML banned me (no reason given). I had posted a few times predicting their behavior - take over the board, piss people off, lock old thread, ban people, then have a contest. That was my timeline/prediction.

So they ban me last week, and today I get an email from them....about a CONTEST!

farking tools...

The best way to get back at them is to add to the content here.  Post product reviews, give some tech how-to help, etc.

Absolutely +1 I stay here now. It's all warm and cozy. No need for me to go  bang head over there. I got the contest thing too. Simply a gimick to try to get us to loggin over there again. I'm ignoring it.

Pretty damned hilarious getting banned and then offerred a contest.  I've also been banned and still haven't been given a reason.  Oh well.  Guess we now know where the REAL Monster board is, eh?

Isn't that nice of them -- ban you and then they *SPAM* you.

I'm really confused by their behavior.  Why buy a forum for the content and knowledge then start mass banning members.  I'm not talking about guys that in all reality self-banned themselves, but guys that just got banned for no reason or for silly reasons.

Any thread you read there from longer than a week ago has more banned members than non-banned.  I don't get it.

[rant]

I just got a spam email about the DML contest AT WORK!!! I am NOT happy, to say the least.

I NEVER gave the DML my work email address...perhaps I posted in a couple (and only a couple) of threads from my computer at work, but they would have had to go digging into those posts to find that out. In any case, I vehemently object to them sending me spam at work, and I plan on telling them that as soon as I regain some sense of calm.

And it is spam, plain and simple...according to Wikipedia, spam is "unsolicited or undesired bulk electronic messages".

At the bottom of their spam email, it says "To unsubscribe to DucatiMonster.org Newsletters, Please Click here". I NEVER SUBSCRIBED to their newsletter, but now I have to jump through their hoops to UNSUBSCRIBE???

I was never banned, but I never bothered to re-register when my password was killed last week (along with everyone else's). I just quit posting on their site, because I wasn't going to jump through their hoops to  become re-eligible to post in threads. But not only have I now been automatically made re-eligible (apparently), now I've got to jump through hoops to get them to leave me alone, especially at work!

Jeeze...what a frackin' joke those people are...
