Update on the one I recently fitted kindly sold to me by Spider.

Finally did some night riding last week - way too hot to ride home from Melbourne in the day (43oC). Could've done without the bugs tho.

New globe is a huge improvement on previous.  Don't know whether it's the globe or the fact the previous globe was 3 years old or a combination.

Either way I highly recommend changing the globes regularly.  I will be from now on.  waytogo

To get from the States cost more for postage than the globes cost.  If you find a better supply please let us know.

I've heard conflicting reports about the Philips Extreme globes in terms of duration. Everyone agrees that they are a greta improvement over the stock globes, but some people I've spoken to have had the bulbs die after about 200/300 hours.

Not sure if I got the Philips in mine, but whatever I bought was a definite improvement. Might have been PIAA....I think Melvin has one of these - very bright.

I can tell you that mine lasted until it (and the surrounding bike) was stolen....and riding time was way over 300 hours with the globe in at that point. They've been used for cars for 3 years now I believe...if there was durability issues....they'd be well documented!

UK site is the way to go for them....do a search...it's in my thread and there is a discount code as well!
