I haven't found any specifics about laws against tint on visors in the U.S.  Most of the legislation is in the UK...no mirror shields or dark tint above 50%.  Check your state's laws to see if there are issues.  South Carolina doesn't have a helmet law, and therefore no restrictions/requirements for visors.  They should only be used with clear shields in my opinion.  The graphic provides approx. 25% shading/glare reduction.  Equivalent or less than most tinted visors.  I think you could point that fact out to the  [leo] if you ever found yourself in that situation.

Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you'll see links to actual law text, by state.  Now, at least for Oregon, this refers to "windows of a motor vehicle", so I'm not sure how or whether motorcycle visors would be addressed.  Still looking for that....

UPDATE:

1) In Oregon, a visor or other eye protection is not required for motorcyclists. http://home.ama-cycle.org/amaccess/laws/result.asp?state=or

2) In "A.B.A.T.E. of OREGON v. HOWLAND" 1997, (http://usff.com/hldl/courtcases/oredecision.html), the judge ruled that:

"In summary, ORS 801.366 means precisely what it says: so long as a rider is wearing a "protective covering" on his or her head consisting of "a hard outer shell, padding adjacent to and inside the outer shell and a chin-strap type retention system," and the helmet bears a "DOT sticker" indicating that the helmet meets USDOT standards, the rider is in compliance with the helmet law and the police may not inquire further."

If your helmet meets those requirements, it is, by definition, a legal helmet for Oregon.  And if the visor is considered to be part of the helmet, then it probably follows that this is true regardless of what the visor might or might not look like, or be coated with.

However, I am not a lawyer, and this applies only to Oregon.  There might indeed be visor-specific law for Oregon that describes what you can do to your motorcycle helmet visor, if you choose to have a visor.  But I can't find it.

The adhesion is excellent.  I had a slight wrinkle near the lifting tab that is impossible to see until you inspect closely.  The install went very well, and prior fears about applying these graphics on a curved visor are gone.

A few pics from the test ride today:

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

I think its up to the end user to do that himself. Laws vary from state to state so it may be illegal in one, and not legal in the other.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Hello, Ducatistas!

Like you, as soon as I saw the minifig visor, I knew I had to have one.  So I made my own, using a local sign-maker I know to print the vinyl.

I got it all together today! Pictures are available on Flickr here:

I then saw this thread, and saw that I've been scooped by you guys by a week.  Well, no shame in being beaten to the punch by a gang of Ducati riders.  Thought you might like seeing the pictures, and want to consider going directly to a sign-vinyl printer, as you can save a bunch of money that way.

Cordial regards,
John Young
