Something was weird with this bike when I looked at it but I couldn't figure out what at first. This pic shows it better...




Anyone notice anything strangely out of place?

Are you referring to the fact that it is a water cooled 2 valve?  Not out of place.  That is an ST2 powerplant.

That's a play on the Ducati Elite. It's one of the earliest Ducati Racers. The tank was referred to as a "jelly mold" tank.
I think it a very fitting tribute to a rare and very collectible bike

They milled the cases @ the swing-arm pivot to accept a 748-998 swingarm and yes Virginia...it is an ST2 engine.  Or am I missing 'it'?
