price

honestly, i went low cost on almost every mod other than the two brothers (which was added because i went with a highflow air filter)

low cost aesthetics allowed me to get the fuel controller.

edit: except for the R&G tidy tail which was 50 more plus shipping than the CW tail.

Shin Yo mirrors arrived. VERY nice quality. but did not have the bar end adaptors so off to the store for another part before they go on. maybe i'll find the mirror hole plugs at the same time.

Too bad you don't have Lowes Hardware over there, they sell some perfect sized plugs for the mirror bolt holes.

Dude I'll mail ya some. Got an APO/FPO address? Tell me what to get and I'll do it. I wouldn't put too much into that Roads Italia video. Comparing an SV and 696 is sketchy enough, let alone a 2-1 vs. 2-1-2. I'll post a video as soon as someone tells me how to do it. I have an HD cam but no idea on how to make an internet ready video. You GOTTA hear these pipes!!!!!!

You don't need to go all out with HD but it would help. In a pinch if you have a plain jane digital camera with a video feature, film it and then upload it to your computer. After that, make a Youtube account and upload it to there. Voila!

Isn't there some kind of video conversion involved?

Nope. YouTube accepts different formats. I've uploaded vids from a Sony camera as well as a cheap kodak digital camera without any kind of conversion. It went from camera to computer to YouTube.

Cool! I'll try tomorrow! This may be unclear, but what is the file type extension I am looking for? When I export native video from my camera there are several different file types.

ok damn.

took the morning off due to workers here but had chance to work on the bike.

ever do one thing that affects another negatively but alone they work fine.

well the pipes i got are too long to work with the R&G Tidy Tail. well not really it's just that the local 'bike' plates are as wide as normal car plates, well they are normal car plates. so i can't fit a plate between the pipes.

BUt i started thinking.. the pipes look REALLY cool low. problem is not sure how to 'mount' the exhausts to the to the top of the rearsets. and the real concern is the amount of wheel travel on the rear wheel. will the brake caliper or chain hit the bottom of the pipes. i checked DUcati.com and they say rear wheel travel is 148mm or 5.8 in. guess i'll go check that out. anyone know if that's straight up from the axle line or is that the arc length at the outer part of the rear of the tire or arc length from the axle.

any ideas. it looks really nice. the pipes are parallel to the road.

my options are:

remove short tail go back to long tail (ugh ugly option)
remove pipes go back to stock (but then with the juice box +BMC filter on the way.. this is the least wanted option)
find a way to lower exhausts (complicated and maybe not possible)
find a way to 'shrink' the plate width (hmmmm)
or shorten the exhausts (just thought of that... would look cool too)

I take it your plate has one line on it,  get a bike plate made across two lines, that should fit between the pipes.

Not sure if it is legal though I have seen it in the states - can you hang the plate with the numbers/letters vertical to make room for the pipes?
