So I recently finished my custom Termi 2 into 1 custom exhaust. I mated it to a Quat-D header and man is this thing loud.

After reading another post which had some db measurements listed for a stock exhaust and a Leo Vince I thought it might not be a bad idea to see how loud it was.

 And the answer is.....F*CKING LOUD!

At idle it measured 105.2 db measured from the right side of the bike at a distance of 6'. One thing to keep in mind for this measurement is that I took it in my garage because it was snowing out. Once it gets a little warmer I will take the bike outside and check it again. I'm sure the measurement will be significantly lower....maybe.

For those of you who are wondering how I made the measurement, I downloaded a decibel meter app on my iPhone to use as a measuring device. I was a little concerned at how accurate it would be so I compared it to an Audio Control SA 3052 we have at the shop. To my surprise it was pretty accurate. At the shop I used pink noise and used several sample levels between 65 db and 95 db. Then I measured it using the app on the iPhone and measured within .5 db +/- each time.

So, is it too loud, or no?

Or, not loud enough....

The black/gold bike was 117dB and the bobber was 118dB.

Not too loud. I think you are right about the measurement. It will be lower outside of the garage. You at least have a muffler. I have heard the bobber run and I have to say, the un-baffled BoomTubes on my bike are way louder....
