RDJ was funny as hell in Tropic Thunder, but Heath's performance was on a completely different level. He deserved it, dead or alive....

Sean Penn Winning and peter Gabriel losing was a surprise to me.

Maybe it was bad Karma since he bowed out of performing since he didn't want his song to be involved in a Medley.

btw I thought Hugh Jackman did a great job

addng Beyonce to the lineup.

BTW..Kate getting the best actress award. I haven't seen the movie but she looked good. I just saw her movie "Little Children" a few weeks ago for teh first time. That was messed up! That little dude from the original Bad New Bears playing the perv freaked me out!!

I think In Bruges shoulda won for screenplay - the movie didn't get any hype but it was the wittiest most hilarious and creative film I've seen in ages. One of my favorites!

and despite all the hype (i tend to resist popular things on principal alone too), Slumdog is a truly awesome film. And really feel-good too, which is so unusual from an award winning film these days.

I'm also really happy for Wall-E. I friggin adore that movie!

need to see the wrestler apparently. Rourke is such a badass. anyone seen it?

I think in the first 45 minutes or so of Wall-e there is no dialogue at all and I was still captivated up to that part. If anything kids will be bored of that movie.

My 3 year old has seen Wall-e at least 10 times. She loves that movie...

This was the first time I can recall actually having watched the Oscars and I was impressed. Jackman usually doesn't do it for me but have a ton of respect for performance artists and he didn't dissapoint.

Agreed. There's only one scene in Dark Knight where I noticed "typical Ledger" behavior. He WAS the joker. What's this I hear about Peter Gabriel? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I got bored after a while so we had Caucasians and watched The Big Lebowski.
