So I failed to read the fine print carefully enough, and purchased a new Cycle Cat DKS-35 Side Stand (0.57" longer than stock) without understanding that it will not fit my bike ('06 S2R1K) without modification.  As anyone who has looked even halfway carefully at this will know, the retraction spring retaining lug on the DKS is too high (meaning you'd need shorter springs), and the S2R eccentric mounting plate does not work properly as a result of the angled configuration of the DKS.

My question:  Has anyone figured out a clever way to modify the DKS Side Stand and/or the S*R mounting bolt and spring retraction mechanism to enable the DKS to work properly on an S*R bike?  I can sorta figure out how to address the retaining lug (i.e., by grinding off the existing lug on the DKS, and drilling/tapping a new lug (screw) further down the leg of the stand.  But I can't really see how to address the angle issue that fouls the proper working of the eccentric plate.

If the answer to the above is - no/impossible/not worth it, anyone with an 800S/ST2/ST4 want to buy a never-used DKS-35?  :(
