live... but their agreement w/ speedtv generally means that they're unavailable to US viewers until the wednesday following the race.
however, this "region block" wasn't always active last year.

Is it a "one time you better watch it live cause there is no replay" or do they keep the races up and avaliable for viewing at any time?
thanks derby

I don't bittorrent cuz I'm a tech retard. And I don't belong to RU because I just don't (no good reason).
So, as I see it, my options are to watch Race 2 live on my computer (prolly in the middle of the night on Sat), or to wait til Tues (and avoid the entire DMF in the meanwhile)? That about right? If so, that sucks donkey balls.

I don't torrent either - mainly cause racing is about the only thing I would be interested in, and I have a negative connotation with it.
I don' t have cable either, so I plan on going to the bar Sunday afternoon. But, it sounds like only race 1 will be shown Sunday, and race 2 on Tuesday?

My take on it, from what little I know:
RU is *very* careful to only offer what I consider as 'public domain' product.
They are files of a broadcast, and as such, they do no harm to the broadcasters.
Actually, it could be considered as beneficial, since then more people see the broadcast and the advertising.
To me, it's fundamentally different from offering files of a movie.

to be super specific about it, most of the folks who have access to the eurosport broadcasts on their televisions, who then upload them to RU, edit the commercials out first. of course you still see all the on-track advertising, which is significant.
that said, in the spectrum of torrenting i still consider RU to be extremely low on the guilt scale. plus, if i could pay to receive eurosport broadcasting, i sure as hell would.
and yeah, otherwise your option is wait until tuesday for race 2. oh, but you can re-watch race 1 first.
worse yet is having to wait a ~week for all this year's DMG events to show on the "innovative" saturday night ama pro racing show. that deal literally makes me want to cancel Speed. if it weren't for the fact that it would mean i would probably not see most of the AMA races at all, i would. make the beast with two backsers.

Yup. Like I said, it sucks donkey balls. OTOH, you get to go the bar twice.

Well, if you *do* decide to go the torrent route, check out shiftkontrol.com - looks like they'll have both WSBK and GP.

Have you had any or heard of any problems with shiftkontrol? viruses etc..? I belong to RU but it seems like I can't seed effectively enough and don't want to screw with getting outed before GP starts. I've read the forums there but only come away confused about how to seed properly/effectively.

once you download something, leave your client open for a few hours and don't move the file from it's download location.

That's my usual, but it still seems like I never get my ratio down. it only goes up by 5-6x. I'm gonna try shiftkontrol and still use RU. Thanks GM.
Sorry about the thread jack Dan.
