I contacted them and commented on the stoopidness.

Any replies from the dealer?

How irresponsible of a dealer to portray riders like that chrome a Repsol!
i would love to hear the dealer response...something like....

dear Concerned Uptight Sissy Rider,
Our ad portrays our true customer, the daring, good looking road racer. Sorry that you are jealous that we ride with popped collars, and more skin then you do, but that is a true testament to our incredible skills. Maybe you should ride more and write less.

Ride,
DB dealer

Oh and they want 16500 for a used Repsol.

[laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I think they were cheaper than that when they were new.

Yeah but its got chrome everything [thumbsup]  That right there doubles the price of any bike ;D

Nah, but if I do hear back, I'm sure it'll be like "Screw you,  we'll do 100mph wheelies passed your a$$ in flip flops all day long, cause that's what's cool.  Hope our chrome swingarms don't blind you, oldtimer!"

EvilSteve

Talk about disgusting.

Their helmets don't even match their bikes.  [roll]

the_Journeyman

You'd think they'd at least seize the opportunity to show off some gear and generate some sales interest there too....

They suck at marketing AND protecting themselves ~

Im the one riding in the pics with my cousin and I understand what you are saying, but I am not responsible for the actions of others. Just because Travis Pastrana does two backflips on a dirt bike doesnt mean I have the skill level to try them. Now being smart enough to know the difference is another thing. I like the x games but Im sure there are some who dont, just like im sure there are things you like that I dont but you dont see me forcing my opinion on you. Being a rider yourself im sure you have ridden at some point without a helmet in other states even though you have a choice to wear it. But then again maybe you think that everyone in a helmet free state is setting a bad example and it is YOUR AMERICAN RIGHT to have an opinion and make your decisions accordingly. But IT IS NOT YOUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE FOR OTHERS. So if I choose to take the chance and rid in flip flops and t-shirt OR NO-SHIRT and NO-HELMET and that is what I enjoy, then that is my
right as an american. Freedom of choice and having the common sense to decide on what is appropriate for your skill level are two different things. IT SAYS IN THE BIBLE THAT YOU CANT POSSIBLY HAVE TIME TO MIND YOUR OWN BUISNESS IF YOUR CONSTANTLY MINDING OTHERS.
THANKS
JERRY
THE OWNER

I replied that I DO live in a state which gives me the choice not to wear a helmet and I still prefer to ride in my 1pc Dainese suit, gloves, boots and helmet no matter what the temp gets up to outside... But to each his own. Darwinism may eventually teach lessons to some

He's right...Amendment 28 to the constitution, ratified 3/5/1993: The right of the people to ride a motorcycle without shoes, shirt, or helmet shall not be violated.

haha ;D

Very diplomatic response there, JERRY THE OWNER.   Guess we'll just mind our own business and not shop at yours. Good luck to you and squid motorsports.

Sounds like u have a lot more 2 worry about than riding gear since u believe in Darwinism. And u r right survival of the fittest does come into play ,seeing as I have been through 2 physical therapies because of others pulling out n front of me, never because of rider error even though I can pull 5 mile wheelies at anytime and have ridden for 32 years. And although I've had some close calls I must be pretty FIT! LOL I'm also ready 2 go at anytime because I'm saved by Jesus. It makes  sense now ,i would also need all the ridig gear if i believed in darwinism. I'll pray 4 u bro

Seems like a lost cause even trying to talk any sense into him... oh well.. maybe his prices will come down when he's gone

My response.

QuoteLooks to me the photos were taken at Deal's Gap... and trust me, I'm sure I know ALOT more about that road than you. Being able to pull a 5 mile wheelie doesn't make you a good rider. Just one that doesn't use his bike in a manner in which it was designed for. And did you ever consider that perhaps your injuries may have been less severe had you been wearing proper gear? Are the Brittany Morrows of the world the only ones that actually learn from their mistakes? And please don't pray for me. Save them for yourself. You need all the help you can get.

One thing is for sure, people confuse stupibility with bravery and Jerry the owner took stupibility to a new level.  The point is not forcing our opinion onto you with protective gears, it's about Jerry sending the wrong signal to people about safety.  There are plenty of people out there who need to be educated about protective gear.  The pics in that page certain didn't help...   [bang]

Maybe all we can look forward to is Darwinism taking its course...

Yeah, I'm not waering gear cause of me - I'm wearing cause of the other drivers/riders who are distracted!!!

The red bike doesn't seem to have a license plate.  Guess when you're that 'important' you don't have to follow the rules!
