Man, that was just awesome.  Race 1 was nothing like Race 2 (other than Haga waytogo).   The story of Race 1 was Haga, the BMW and the gixxers and no Spies.  The story of Race 2 was Ben, Haga, the 'priller, a privateer Honda, and the fact that there were no BMWs to be seen and no gixxers up front.

A great weekend for Ducati and an amazing rookie weekend for Spies.  WTF was it with the Yamaha being 12 KMPH slower than the Duc and 'priller?  At one pt, they had Fabrizio at 302, Biaggi at 299, Haga at 296 and Ben at 289.  Though I wonder if that was earlier when Ben was slower in the last part and wasn't getting as good a drive.

Race 2 was really good to watch.  Close racing with a lot of passing and a tight group for the podium.  Haslum and Laconi looked awesome.  And Fabrizio needs to get his shit together.  Seeing Ben cut off Max's nose in the first coupla turns was just perfect, particularly because of all the shit-talking about how he couldn't take the dicing in WSBK.

Doesn't someone owe some $ to the airfence?   Grin

normal soup quote machine post.  two interesting things...

 - "...the first American to win a World Superbike race since fellow American Colin Edwards in 2002."
 - and this is the first post-race interview i've heard ben give in mostly the first person.  methinks he was very excited.  Smiley
