Morning  [coffee]

Last night was cosmic...went to the observatory and got to look through 4 telescopes: 8" diameter from 1880, 10" new, 20" from 1910 (20 feet long!), and 36" new. (Apparently it's very rare to have a 36" telescope that's open to the public)

Cool shizzy I got to see: double star, the detailed surface of the moon (so many craters, and a crater within a crater!), the Pleiades...which number a lot more than "Seven Sisters", Jupiter's stripes and four moons...

...and then my mind was blown by the 36" telescope...

...the Orion Nebula...huge swirls of bright blue gas, a bit or red, and 4 new stars formed in the middle.  So cool!!

I think I'm gonna read up on telescopes :)

It was great meeting "The Dude" at long last.   She brought us some epic beer.

Guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. I fell today, actually twice. The first was just silly but the second kinda sucked. Got both on video. Pulling it off the GoPro now.
