I only see jesus having a sauna with a teletubbie.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

How was the office?

It was dreadful, empty...saw 2 old co-workers....oddly enough one was there for the first time since last June

I lasted until 9:30 a.m. and fled with my new ID and access cards that had been sitting in my mailbox since last June

to round out the horror...a mutual co-worker of ours died age 55...went home sick that day, March 15/Ides.... fell asleep.... and evidently he woke up in the hereafter...massive cardiac

got the news on email later in the day after I got back home and logged into my puter...

funny as hell guy knew him since the 1990's...we used to get tagged to warm seats at all the corporate black tie rubber chicken Charity Fund Raiser dinners....

probably because we owned our own dinner jackets and this company never learned of my penchant for getting heavily fueled and doing the dance of the one-eared elephant

the last time I was in my office was January 11, 2011.  I know because there was a yellowed NY Times on my desk from the last time I was in there

the commute was gruesome....gray miserable looking people sneezing coughing and hacking on each other in the subway

it was like a bad dream...a recurring nightmare that I had once lived,,,, going back as far as 1977

but the car is now packed, heading out around 5-6 a.m. to retreat to the hills

and here is a clip that sort of describes how I felt

Knowing what little I do of New York...other than the whole place gives me an uneasy feeling...

I was kind of expecting that.

Makes the house down south seem all that much better eh?

Nate after working through 9/11 I lost my taste for NYC...

I had some truly great and truly awful times there

9/11 kind of tipped the scales though and made me want to go

be closer to my greater family in the hills

and I was getting too old anyway to keep the 3 ring circus act going

even without the toxins,,,for years I was a compelling organizer of many monthly gatherings

of friends and associates I had collected over the years in the business

each month we would agree by email nomination and ballot,,,various bars and taverns in the city

that were deemed worthy of our presence

upon consensus 40 or more of us would assemble in the venue....and invariably be thrown out of them after a few hours

every now and then someone gets nostalgic and emails me asking if we might resurrect

the old gathering....

I politely decline...the past is exactly where it needs to be

behind us
