Ouch  :o

Is he gonna sue the builder??  ;)

Glad he's on the mend.   I was feeling like that after a whole weekend of dirt riding (only it woulda taken me longer to recover).

Happened in the old house.

We're still a long way off from the new one. :-\

On the positive side:  At least the weather will be getting better for building soon  ;D

We've had some beautiful autumn weather this year.... sunny and warm.  But I think its coming to a rapid end...  Had the fire blazing here the last 24 hours....

When it isn't raining or windy we're hard at it.

Made good progress last week, but it's been cold and wet the past couple of days...we're still heating. ;)

Cold today, but sunny. We'll be back on the roof.

I've decided to call the house...

Foam Dome.  ;D

You wont be needing any heating under the FD with all that insulizationing.....  There's more insulating material under you right boot in that pic..... than in our entire house.

Anyway... keep up the good work  [thumbsup]

Time I wasnt here.

density or compressive strength?

Density is 1lb/cuft  Compressive strength is 12.5 psi. You can stand on it flat footed and not dent it.

We're screwing it down under furring with 11" long screws.

i was looking for density based on how thick the pieces are and how many seem to be stacked on top of each other.
i figured you were attaching ti either way, didn't quite make sense to me to drill it first though.
then again, i don't know much about building anything that can be lived in safely  ;D

There is 8 1/2 inches there in 4 layers.

When I originally planned this I was shooting for R-20 continuous at 00 F. I'm planning on adding R-13 to the inside

The product is r 4.6 /inch at 0 so if you do the math it works.

After I got to thinking and I decided the roof needed more outside so I added 4". The exterior foam will provide R-39 and I'll add R-19 inside.

Because the foam outside eliminates the thermal bridging of cold studs and sheathing the package performs at a much higher level.

We're gonna heat it with the processor from my desk top and a couple of farts.
