So far, so good.  The swelling in my foot seems to finally be going down.  Did Z sleep last night?
2000 Monster 900Sie, a few changes
1992 900 SS, currently a pile of parts.  Now running
                    flogged successfully  NHMS  12 customized.  Twice.   T3 too.   Now retired.

Progress on the house?
2000 Monster 900Sie, a few changes
1992 900 SS, currently a pile of parts.  Now running
                    flogged successfully  NHMS  12 customized.  Twice.   T3 too.   Now retired.

We bought a bunch of lumber yesterday...

Jeff built the mechanical room wall with his dad's supervision while Jim figured out how he wanted to build the front porch on piers that weren't 'exactly' where we wanted them. I stayed out of the way and worked in the shop and played runner when Jim needed stuff from the lumber yard. We hammered out a plan that anchors the back of the deck with extended quick bolts to the foundation. We'll add wood to the front run (where the piers are too close to the building) and put the posts on top of the framing.

Make sense?

I suspect if it doesn't rain today that that he'll get most of that done...

Makes sense.  I don't know why deck footings are such a pain to get 'exactly' where you want them, but they seem to wind up with a Plan B more often then not.
