True.  Although lessons learned the hard way are the ones I best remember, hopefully that kid will know better in future.

Why are kids so stupid?
They're kids.  Its up to the adults to act in defence of their safety.

Quote from: JaxSurfer on August 28, 2012, 02:29:32 PMI was walking my dog last night and these little girls were running around screaming. One of them ran up to my little boy waving her arms and he chomped her in the stomach.
"Little boy"??  Was the dog on a leash?

Of course he was on a leash. I always have him leashed especially where I live with all the cars, people, etc.

I was walking him, minding my own business and she just came sprinting up yelling and screaming, waving her hands in his face. BAM. It happened so fast. I was awe struck by it. He is a mutt....I suspect a Lab/Pitt/Boxer mix, but not really sure. He is mostly lab from his personality. It's just a shame it happened.

Hopefully that girl learned her lesson about how to act around dogs so someone else doesn't have to go through a day of worrying like I did about what was going to potentially happen. I was playing out the worst scenarios in my head involving police, animal control, etc. Oh yeah....also getting sued. Luckily, the Mom was reasonable and understood it was an accident. I even offered to pay for her visit to the ER to get it checked out, but the Mom politely declined my offer. She just wanted to make sure my dog had all his shots and didn't have rabies.

Maybe I will sleep tonight comfortably. I think I'll celebrate with a beer.
