Well, I had a very pleasant Saturday mucking about in the garden.

Cut some grass, trimmed back some trees (with the chainsaw  [evil]), lit a bonfire to burn all my offcuts.

Sun shone and I took the time to pull up a garden chair in front of the dwindling fire and watch the changing light on the nearby hills as the sun went down, beer in hand  8)

Once again I reminded myself how fortunate I am to live in such a beautiful, peaceful place  :)

Contentment.

It's log length that's been in a pile for several years with blackberry brambles growing around and through the pile..

Mix of Beech, Ash, Maple, and a small amount of Birch and Oak.

It's mostly Beech which doesn't stand the test of time when left log length...kinda punky. The Ash, Maple, and Oak make it worth the gas.

The red one doesn't even know it's there.

The wood is on a side hill about 200 feet off the road. Need 4 wheel to maneuver around in there empty.

Once it's loaded 2 wd is fine.
