If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Or the pointy end disappears

Progress with the trusses?
They're covered up...

as are the rest of the materials that should be in the air.

Yesterday was comical as was Wednesday.

After us learning the boom truck wasn't capable of putting the trusses on the wall...

the salesman of said trusses showed up and asking how come they weren't up?

Tom, my BIL, told him the truck wasn't big enough and everyone at the yard knew that. He also mentioned how unhappy he was with the guy as he had a crew in place at 6:30 the day before.

The guy said 'but Kevin (the owner) sent the truck'...I guess this guy is either a great actor or not real sharp...so he says I'll call Kevin.

A little while later Tom's daughter comes back from an errand and he asks if there's a truck in the yard...she says no...the guy ran with his tail between his legs!

I guess Tom had a message on his cell or an email from Kevin saying something about how they had done some wrong and to please call.

Keep in mind Tom hasn't paid for the trusses. If time wasn't so crucial they'd be back on a truck to the yard. Some 'adjustments' will be made. ;D

It wasn't a total loss.

I got to rescue the top plate job, I installed some furring on the foam and got my nephew Sean with that program, and built door bucks and installed a couple of doors.

Besides...Tom is paying me...not big money, but this building project is being funded by insurance money from the old building. I happen to have some really current experience with foam buildings. He's getting me cheap and it works for me too. I just wish I didn't have to be away to do it. I miss my family when I'm gone.

Just got back and the house still stinks like skunk. I gave the dog a bath and sprayed Pierre Cardin around the house. That makes it better but it still stinks. The dog remains outside.
