The annual "fell a pathetic little pine tree and then be amazed as it becomes triple its size once inside the house" expedition is complete.

Mrs Ung has a guitar gig....  Youngerheuer is working (to get more money to buy more guitars)... and so me and SJ will be home.

Probably play some 2 person back yard cricket if he gets his way  :).

It went well. He brought his tractor up and we got the plywood up to deck level with it. Saved a ton of lifting.

We worked together to get the deck started, and then he went and pieced in the stairway header and the missing joists while I worked bent at the waist for the rest of the day.

The deck is on.

He's going to move some stuff around today in prep for weather, h also does the snow removal for this customer, and maybe put the stairs in.

yes a control of some sort and I'm the lucky fellow that sorts through these poorly conceived and written things and makes the controls do what it says.
Because I actually know a bit about what I'm doing I also have to end up either having my own interpretation on this or write in options to make it work differently after initial testing so that it doesn't work all make the beast with two backsed up in the real world. Simple = better, if I set it up to work as designed it would hunt for temperature/humidity all day and waste more energy doing so plus make for many complaints from the people in the areas served by it.

went to bed with a heavy heart last night
woke up feeling the same sadness
shit like this is a reminder how suddenly life can change

this all happened 15 miles from my office
we had our christmas luncheon anyway - even though it wasn't joyful
most of my co-workers have small children, and were a wreck

the partners at the agency are incredibly generous-
i was humbled and speechless when i received my bonus prior to the party
and then almost cried at the party when i received my ipad mini,
engraved with my name and the year

i'm feeling a little too lucky
