Ahhhhhhhhhhh...Saturday.

How I've missed you.

Isn't today one of 11 Saturdays in a row for you?

(But, just a reminder for you...  It really is Wedsmonday)
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Yes.  Yes it is.  ;D

I just wish it weren't 12* so I could do something out of doors.

and that very condition is where I end up making the most money because those idiots go out and panic and do damage that the insurance company cleans up for them on and they end up usually having to fix in order to use their cars

do the insurance companies tell you howq much they are going to pay for a repair or do they just pay the bill minus the deductible?

WELL...the boom ain't happened yet...and when it does...it is usually several days after the weather event...

as far as the insurance companies are concerned...they try and force you to use used parts because it costs them less regardless of what the customers know or are aware of, which is another issue entirely that I have with the insurance companies altogether....

we try and fit as much new and make the insurance companies know what is what up front to avoid the time wasting of suppliments because when you have a vehicle suspension torn apart on the spot to find something left out of an estimate, it is a waste of your time and logistics to have to wait for authorization to add in whatever it is and leave a lift tied up in the meantime.

what seems to happen in alot of cases is the InsCo writes an initial check to the insured and they sign it over to us with the amount being the total minus their deductable, so the customer is aware of a total amount due up front no matter what...the InsCo will pay us for any suppliments during the process that are found to be needed or in cases where they paid the customer for a used part allowance( reflected on their estimate of course) that turns out to not actually be available and a new one is the only option, thus a cost differential/need for suppliment which the InsCo pays usually direct to us before the car is released to the customer.
