I think he is looking for some liquid courage.
That's why airports have bars  ;D.

I always view areoplane travel like this:  I never board the flight if I think its unlikely to arrive safely  ;)

In the old days....

I would just walk on board without all the BS.
I really dislike the whole bag drag, security, and those lousy seats when flying commercial.

I worked for UAL until just after 911 and i guess its all kind of a bad trip for me.
Thus feeling the need to self medicate.

The last two trips I took to Houston I drove. I hate it that much.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Flight one of three on our journey back to Colorado is in the books.

At Lima International.  One hour into a 6-hour layover.

I'm pretty sure we are officially bored.  :-\

We can't even check our baggage for two more hours.   [bang]

Mendo - I did some quick math earlier.  I'll fly 9 segments in 14 days after my work trip that starts on Wednesday. Flying isn't much fun these days, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

The upside for me is that I upgraded us to First Class here and back. Marriott covered the tab on the hotels for 10 nights at some pretty nice digs.

evening . . .

I'm still not at 50k miles . . . still sorta got to pay for upgrades . . . but less than before; hotel wise, I got a free night locally at the a Hilton . . .

7 of them were for this trip to Peru and back. I'm not complaining much about those (except for having to go to baggage three times on the way home).

Our trekking guide down here has never been on an airplane - he was late 20ish.

It's really a different world down here.

When we were on our trek, we saw no vehicles of any kind for the first day.

Thankfully, our guide was able to use his phone to find some replacement horses to bring our gear and food.  The first ones that showed up weren't prepared to haul gear.

You spend more time in the air than me.

But...  Flying is still fun for me. ;D

In the news today...

90F today, windy as shit (official statement from our weatherman), hasn't rained in a month.

Bluebell fire is still only 4 acres, but will grow quickly.
