Evening.

Power out yesterday evening when I got home  :(   Chicken and lettuce sandwiches for dinner outside, by the light of the silvery moon.

Went to bed.  

Power back on this morning  [thumbsup]  Turned on a tap... no water flow  [thumbsdown]

The power company killed our water pump  >:(   Took the day off work (they're thrilled  [roll])

Disassembled the pump and went looking for a fried component... gave up....  no spare parts to be had...

Bought and installed new pump....  $1100 poorer now  :(

Water pressure is MUCH better  :)

And now to pursue the electricity company (guy at the pump shop said I was the 9th victim he'd seen today)....

Yeah, the pump supply shops are all open at night and plumbing in the dark is easy  ;D.

Freezing cold today... pissing down rain and blowing a gale.   Lots of motorcycles on the roads....  Must be Grand Pricks weekend coming up.  The weather never fails to be gruesome.

Not really a well....  main tank is cut into the hill...  about 2 metres lift is all.
