I work for the govt and needed permission to have another job. If business picks up I will have to go part time in my govt job, as per the rules, which is fine and part of my plan.

So any chance of starting a small shop and going 50/50? I would talk to people if that's what you want to do. I'm sure there are protocols. Something to consider.

nah, I'm kind of tired of making chips... so if I'm to 'look for new work' like doc wants, she's talking like total career shift.

it's a cool ass trade, don't get me wrong... it's just that I've been overworked for so many years that I'm just tired of it (and mgmt shenanigans).

I hear you. I have worked in people helping roles for 30 years, but now I want to work with my hands. A midlife career change I guess. Seems like another part of the personality needs expression at a certain stage in life.
But I will do 50/50. My wife has two jobs 50/50 and she always seems fresh for each job. It got me thinking.

I've  been here for 13, and that seems a lifetime... well, it probably feels that way because half of it sucked balls.

but that's part of what has me hesitant about a new job... this feels like it's all I know at this point. and it pays damn well. too well.

downloading Batman: Arkham Origins, and my CPU is too slow to play the game on recommended settings.  My graphics card is good enough, and plenty of ram.
