Yes, Melamine-skinned particle board.

4" wire mesh for concrete reinforcement.
1/2" bolts welded to ~2" square plates, tacked to the mesh, giving something to attach the legs.
3x3x1/4" angle iron leg brackets.
4x6 reclaimed lumber for posts.

Used high strength sack concrete, mixed with coloring powder.
The gravel was fairly large, made for quite a few air pockets in the top and sides.
Had to post fill those with concrete patch mix, colored to match.

It's ~ 2' x 3', pretty much at the maximum load two normal guys can carry up stairs.

If I were to do it over again, I'd chase down some lightweight specialty concrete, with small aggregate.

It looks like a nice table. I decided to order some laminate that looks like stone amd put it on furniur grade plywood. Stone was about $70 Sq foot and I have Thousands invested in this already. I think we are just sort of going to be open before our Oficial Opening.

Shoulda just mixed it up loose...eliminates the air pockets...doesn't make it any lighter though. :P

How thick is it?

We considered concrete for our counter tops, but due to the size it would have been impossible to do it in one piece, and with no real way to deal with the seams we decided on stone.

They had to do it in 3 pieces, but have this really sweet rig to hold the stone in position to epoxy the seams.

evening BTW

No Nings from me of course but I was told that they poured the counter in place at two places I've been to. (Both done by the same guy)

That is one way to do it, but requires polishing of the surface.

It's messy.

Yeah, mixing it up loose would have been better.

It was the first concrete thing I've done that was more sophisticated than setting a wooden post.... and no concrete guru handy to help with the task.

It's 1 1/2" - 2" thick, I don't remember exactly.
