If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

That's the pile that's slid off the roof...

so far. ;)

Paula made fun of me when I built a shed.

"Why's the roof so steep?"
"So it'll shed the...snow....just shut up alright?"

Here's the "Redwood Tunnel" after the storm. It didn't look that way last week...

No storms here.  No snow likely any time soon.

Sunny and around 100 of your American Farenheits here today (and again tomorrow apparently)... a surprise in what's been an otherwise coolish summer.

Windows open... cool(er) evening breeze wafting through the house.... crickets (the insect variety) chirping the evening chorus.

Big day at the Quarry today.  I'm bloody cactus.

Evening.
Don't think it snowed here today either..
Maybe I missed it and it was rain by the time I saw it......

So school is on again?

If it snows every year (and it seems to me that it does).... how come there's no plan B?   Like half-track school buses??

Or snow mobile Corps?

Yup...school is on.

The number of days they need to call school off wouldn't justify tracked vehicles.

They already have several 4 wheel drive busses for the back road routes. Zeke rides one in the afternoon.

I'm sure the superintendent has a set of criteria to base the decision of whether to open or not. I suspect one of them is if they open can they finish the day, or are they going to have to let the kids out early due to dangerous travel. That becomes a huge PITA because of the number of 2 working parent households...no where to send the kids.

Otherwise it escapes me.

...same deal here if there's bush fires...

whilst it may be safe to go to school... if there's any possibility that a situation could develop during the day which could mean that it isnt safe to send the kids home....

no school.

doesnt happen a lot though.

Switched up my normal latte for a flat white today.

Tasty.

That's too hot for me Ung.  It's humid too, isn't it?

Mechanic is impressed with my new bike thus far.  Says it looks like it was never ridden in the rain.

That's going to change.   [Dolph]

Unusually humid.  Normally our hot summers are tinder dry..... this year not so hot... not so dry.

At least the place isnt going up in flames  [thumbsup]

There's no place for bovine lactation in coffee at all IMO.  Just the essence of the bean.

New bike Double D?   I missed something here I think??

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.
