Seems the Navy has changed the way they do a lot of things because of the difficulty that was experienced in putting that fire out.

Yeah but I'd add a tether so he wouldn't lose that too.  [cheeky]


At ye olde satellite factory we would tape any connections together, so you wouldn't run the risk of dropping the socket/extension etc. It's never a fast approach when you can't drop something-ever. Hard to find the guys with the right mentality.

You should see how plumbers use a Hole Hawg and a 4" hole saw...to make it faster. [bang] [bang] [bang] [laugh]

My plumbers helper still won't talk to me after I read him the riot act for dropping one from a 6 foot step ladder on my finished slab. :P

Took me a good long while to figure out that rushing a job typically makes it go slower.

The worst I had was the tech who went up a stepladder with authority and planted his head right into a subreflector. The way the signal spreads out it meant he ruined service for about an entire state. Major screwup during the last week of launch base. Almost added a month to the trip.

The first thing my crew said to me was "Don't kill him"

Plumbers and HVAC guys are the worst.

Plumbers with their Hole Hawgs and HVAC guys with their Sawzalls.

I was really worried for P's safety when I heard you got one. ;)

I've had good luck with plumbers.

Less so with electricians.

A friend of mine worked for an outfit that did concrete slab work, foundations, etc.

On any new project the owner would warn the drywall guys that if they drove a drywall truck onto his green slab, he's dismember them with his bare hands.

And FWIW, Ducati quit making their stuff any easier to work on in ~2001.

My brother is going through with his divorce.

His wife asked for half the vacation home he owns with me.

He said no, he owned it before he ever met her.

Then she asked for half of my mother's home.

I'm not sure on what basis.

I predict future ugliness.

The only advice I have for him is to be twice the asshole he'll be accused of being regardless what he does...

it is the only satisfaction he'll get out of it. ;)
